What about other GTM organisation roles? And customer facing roles like success program managers, customer success specialists, professional services?

Anyone know whats happening with appd eng? In particular those already integrating with splunk
@1uci+1u63ER9R yes but even software becomes obsolete and those certs aren't useful anymore.
Remember in the late 90's when everyone was trying to go for their MSCE? It was a hot certification then. Now? Not so much.
Keep your eyes and ears to the market and see what is trending in terms of current solutions. Learn and certify on them. And don't worry about what Cisco's ELT, or any other ELT is doing!
Software is the place to be! All those Cisco certs are worthless
Appd is around 600 employees. They are completely wiping the sales team and rehiring rock stars. Do the math. . They cut 120 reps and are rehiring half that to get quality. If you are in Europe, you are gone in a few weeks because of your laws and regulations. 100% you are gone if you are a PSS/rep. Cisco has to wait based on laws but you are gone. You will have to re interview for all the new positions opened. Software is high growth. Networking and all the other junk have 6000 layoffs coming in weeks. Blood in the streets
Appd has been given the all clear except Europe which has a 1 month waiting law. Splunk has reopened 40-50 positions to hire technical sellers for those cut. They wiped the slate clean. They want the best of the best. Splunk will be heavily hiring this fiscal. The rest of the 5000 layoffs will come out of Cisco portfolio

you're in big trouble if you're in Appd. Time to get in touch with your network and all the people you ghosted in the last layoff and hopefully someone can find you a new place to jump to.
If you are in AppD I would be vigilant and looking for any opportunities I can find. Now it’s sales but they are coming for all other parts of the businesses soon. ELT is merging observability under splunk and Splunk engineers should be the one doing all of it as AppD will be part of the whole Splunk Observability story.
