Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

CX is TOAST if you are in these roles...

My manager told me today that CX CSE teams are going away and also some of the SPMs. No wonder CSEs are not allowed to attend GSX boondoggle.

I guess I am going to be packing next month since they do not want me facing customers.

What are you guys hearing on the CX front? Liz did mention that entire 'teams' will be impacted.

Customer success person here. I heard that LC is not in favour of the Customer Success Executive role and likes the technical role that CSS do. You can expect cuts in the CSE role and reinvestment in cheaper CSS from cheaper locations.

CSE is what TCE used to be called, which is TAC. They are not useless and in fact we should be investing more in TAC, not understaffing.

OP is talking about Customer Success Executives. Nobody knows what they do.

Isn’t customer support engineer same as technical consulting engineer? What do they do actually?

CSE wears many hats at Cisco, and different folks are known as:

Customer Support Engineer
Customer Success Engineer
Customer Success Executive
Client Success Executive

They are all useless titles and provide zero value add, and should be cut.

Sorry for my bad question but what is CSE? Customer Support Engineer or Customer Success Engineer?

CSEs have proven to be a waste of company resources. Mostly glorified HTOMs.

Your comments are precisely reflective of the problem with CX leadership. Not surprised they would be undermining their boss to their team members. More important to hold on to their fiefdoms than work together for the good of the company and the customers.

CSE role is already doing a lot of what LC has described. CX Leader sounds like CSE and Delivery Leader in a single role. Get your popcorn ready for 9/16.

CSE here. Was assured that the CSE team including ours are not being impacted. Don't believe whatever Liz says as gospel. CX is too big for Liz to trim down at least the first couple of rounds.

The single lead model combines delivery leader and cSE roles.
