I’m sure there are plenty of folks looking for a way out so would make sense to make voluntary LR an option.

Very easy. Start speaking on leaders call and criticize their policy. Do it twice and you will see yourself counted. More effective if you can yell at them.
Easy pizzy dude. Been there, done that.
If I would be in US I would definitely go for it. When in your life would you get the chance to get 6 salaries while you can do whatever you want? OF course I would do that if I would be well skilled for hitting the job market
Depends if your managers are human - mine are.

You find a way to survive LR?
You should have good acting skills.
I and others I know have tried this at badly run companies for over 30 years. Management is trained never to pay to get rid of someone who will do it for free. Asking makes it clear you're on your way out one way or the other.
It isn’t. But sometimes you can indicate your intentions which the execs can use. For instance, if you’re coming up for retirement, then indicating an interest in punching out may prompt them to place your name on a list, and save 3 people in (say) India.
It should be easy to get LR’ed. You have a month to show yourself worthy of a lay off and you’ll make the list. If not this one, the next one.
Talk to your manager, so if your manager has a list he/she can maybe swap someone's name with yours. Maybe managers are given a number so by making him/her aware you can have a better chance to be enlisted.
No. It was mentioned in the slides. You cannot.
Why? Why not to take unlimited PTOs till the next LR, you will be on the list in next LR for sure, ha ha
