Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Another group of HUB rollouts

Reduced space, no improvements just pack them in there. No thought process, it’s the “Flying the plane while we are building it” mentality. People hate it, corporate thinks it’s AMAZING because they accomplished their goal. and if you want the same seat, you better reserve it. 😳 hey Move Champions, weigh in

This is the exact reason why they moved 24 HR to fully remote. Ironic though considering they are one of the major contributors of internal fraud at the bank.

@6pwe+1u70uX7P Don’t we all work for the same bank that has employees having sensitive and confidential information? Good golly I walk through departments all the time that are repeating card numbers or talking about finances. It’s called morals and being a class act. Stop worrying that someone is going to run to the corner of Main Street and 1st and blab it all.

How does open seating work when some departments are supposed to be separated from sitting next to employees not in the same department because of sensitive or confidential information?

We’ve had our kickoff meeting which was presented in a cookie cutter fashion and they appeared annoyed that this approach won’t work with the unique needs of 2 of the business lines. How dare they, right? Hahaha The imaging was scheduled last week and had to be cancelled due to “vendor staffing issues”. It’s rescheduled in Sept. Plans are to start in October. I am looking around but find this train wreck almost worth staying to watch implode.

Boston, Knoxville, Phoenix, Denver also affected with next push. Square footage reduction with increased headcount and not enough seats at many locations. Good luck, all.

Next wave is many sites. Rto date 12/16, Chicago, La, Portland, Philly, Marshall, KC. Plus several more! Downtown PDX will close as will Tigard - long commute for those at Tigard.

Portland RTO..here is what I know. I don't think it's happening in September. Bc they would have given some sort of notice by now, considering it's only a few weeks away. We will not be going back down town. There has been a huge amount of work done to get out of those buildings and the leases. That leaves Columbia center as the primary hub. I was just there in July for an off-site. While it's looking better, than it has in years, it's not ready to handle the masses.
Things to take note in this RTO plan observe what they are doing in other states, in Ohio they got out of downtown, and moved everyone to the suburbs. Just because the location is closer to us it doesn't mean we will be assigned to it this is of course not about us. Sorry to be a downer.

@1iwz+1u70uX7P -- I know for sure that there are some employees in my division that were working in downtown Portland that were relocated to Gresham. I'm sure other divisions are looking at the same move.

Does anyone know if they will force Portland to the Columbia Center in Gresham? Ive heard they are trying to get everyone out of downtown Portland but have not been able to confirm with managers.

What actual cities have been confirmed in the next rollout? It doesn’t seem they are following the initial script. Any details?

Good luck the RTO about to hit a major snag with the new pandemic mpox they announced plus Covid is still running rampant everyone showing up sick as a dog spreading diseases. Watch they will be implementing pandemic again in a month time. Election time is here.

I talked to a WF recruiter earlier this week and they told me that WF automatically rejects applications from USB employees if they have no banking experience outside of USB.

The reason they are going RTO is because Wells is doing it and they do whatever Wells does. AC probably reads more about Wells than he does his own company and consistently asks whether Wells is doing one thing or another. Would not be surprised at all if they go back to 4 days which Wells will be doing in 2025.

I don’t think they believe that many will quit. Job market stinks especially for tech. Fully remote jobs are very hard to land. Hybrid is the only choice, so they figure you’ll stay where you are instead of taking less pay. I am pretty sure they know they will be forking over the severance. I know of no one in my area that has quit because of RTO.

I heard people in Portland got exemption to not be in office due to high crime rate in that area. So now they want Portland people back in office in September ? How many people are even in Portland to waste time with RTO for that office?

Of course they care that people hate it. How else are you going to get voluntary resignations? That's been the end goal of RTO - get employees to quit on their own so the bank doesn't have to pay severance and get bad press. It's going to get a LOT worse in terms of work conditions before it gets better (via AC/GK getting kicked out, McK getting kicked out or a merger with a relatively saner corp etc.)

They don't care that people hate it. As long as they have butts in seats. Between this and the constant layoffs I don't know how anyone is productive right now.
