Consider it your 90-day quiet quitting opportunity. Kinda relaxing that way.

"All this suffering for a stupid logging service.."

The problem is that Cisco leadership are powerpoint slide experts but have no clue about execution. They probably bought Sp--k based on pretty slides that showed whatever CR wanted to believe but not the reality of this acquisition.

Cisco bought another small logging/SIM company called Protego about 20 years ago to fill a gap in firewall logging. It was eventually run into the ground and ki-led.

The comment below me said it great. All of this because we overpaid for sp--k which is just an overpriced new relic. Most talented SRE teams are using opentelemetry (which is free) and grafana's tools (also free) anyway.

“This has become the most toxic environment I’ve ever worked in, and the mood as evidenced by comments on internal platforms is as dark as I’ve ever seen it. I’m only waiting until my next big [Restricted Stock Unit] vest to leave, and I know others are too,” a Cisco employee, who asked to remain anonymous to avoid retaliation, told TechCrunch.

someone wanting to get fired. why do stupid stuff like that?

We need not only the media but also politicians and the justice system to pay attention and investigate Cisco’s internal profiteers and insider traders. A thorough investigation is needed. This potential breach of fiduciary duty requires legal consequences.

A month of "silent" layoffs before the real layoffs. This company is a freaking dumpster fire with CR just pouring a constant stream of gasoline on it. I bet GS is already looking for a exit plan.

Finally news media is paying attention to the atrocities against Cisco employees. What Cisco is doing should be illegal. Acquiring Splunk and make the money by throwing out its own employees. Truly dis-gusting.
