3omu+1u8GD4lC I'm not arguing with anyone. I'm stating facts. Our agreement is amended. It never ends. The Railway Labor Act is a very grateful safety net. If this article was written by a railroad union, then they would know the facts. Seeing that you are backing them, you are uneducated. The only downside to the Railway Labor Act is that our negotiations can go on for awhile. Unlike other unions that are under the National Labor Board, when there contract ends, they are out of a job, they loose pay, benefits and depending on how long the strike is, they might not have a job to go back to if the company decides to abolish the unions. They can also bring in scabs. The Railway Labor Act prevents all of that. Also on the outside, you don't have to to be part of a union. To work for a railroad you have to part of a union. Now, yes this right now is between CSX and BNSF Railroad, but it shows the weakest unions are folding first. Carman, dispatchers, and pipe fitters mainly. The Carriers and the Union coalition will be sending out Section 6 notices next month. It's the wish list. The unions that have negotiated so far have a "Me Too" clause. So if we get something better in pay, they can also get it. There hasn't been anything out on what tge Tentative Agreement they will be voting on yet.
@1cly What good would it do to freeze someone pays until they get to the number that they're actually worth? Freezing someone's pay obviously doesn't raise their pay, or lower it. Freezing someone's pay actually freezes it at the level it's at now. You really should be careful about the trash talking you do on here. You don't know who might actually know who you are. Just something for you to think about.
@3rul-Doesn’t matter. The OP posted the link. This isn’t rumor or something someone posted to stir up trouble, this is a fact written by a railroad union. I know it is for CSX and not UP, but it could potentially mean something to us. Time will tell. STOP ARGUING WITH EVERYTHING SOMEONE POSTS!
2gmh+1u8GD4lC. We are under the Railway Labor Act. Our contract never ends, it gets amended.
@2udj-Uhhhh our contact expires Jan. 1st 2025. Contract negotiations can start anytime. For most other union places, if a contract expires employees strike until it is settled unless one is settled before the due date.
Ummm aren't contract negotiations starting Jan 1 2025???? It will be a good 3 years again till we see another raise.

You make too much as it is. Your pay should be frozen until we get to the number you're actually worth. Next contract will probably be 20 years from now.
