Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Authenticator App Update

Did you all see that in Flagscape that a update will happen over the weekend? You now have to provide your location. Any thoughts?

This is a Non-Event. Total Snore-fest.

@2mfr+1uDZw7In is Spot On -- "They" have known all along where you are Every Single Time You Log On. (even with VPN) And anyone who thinks they are hiding is fooling themselves.

The update over the weekend is an added verification that your Corp Phone is in the same location as your Corp Laptop.

That's it.

Multi-factor Authentication x 2.

So you're laptop can't be hi-jacked and accessed away from The Real You.

Just one more way to demonstrate and document to regulators that Bank is fighting cyber crime and preventing Anonymous Bad Actors from accessing our systems or penetrating our firewall.

Stop with your RTO scare tactics already. If they want us RTO 5 days a week, they don't need any system to report that.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but they’ve been aware of your work location every single day without having to review MFA or badge swipes.. they’ve been using that wipe counts to keep things simple but it’s only a matter of time before they start calculating hours worked in office vs remote based on your VPN login details.

It’s actually shocking that all these conspiracy theorist haven’t considered this approach and they focus on worrying about things like the MFA tokens and badges haha!

Hope they postpone this.. many in Florida may be out of power with this storm and won’t be available to focus on this stuff between Wed-Sunday as we clean up our properties.

They don't need your location in order to see if you are remote or in the office. The IP you are connecting from is sufficient. They probably are more concerned if there is an incoming connection from a suspicious location. Like North Korea.

I suppose IT will remember the locations alleged for your IP addresses for later use.
