My department has a surprise Global All Hands meeting tomorrow (Friday Oct 18). I’ve never been on a call with people from Australia before!

This is just junk. A too big to fail isn’t going to announce layoffs with the election just a couple of weeks away. Brian would be getting a phone call immediately by the WH to bark at him for his timing, and make no mistake, this bank is very political friendly to whomever has a regulator’s ear.

The economy is humming. Unemployment rate is down. Recruiting new talent in this environment is extremely expensive. It would cost them FAR more to rehire than it would to just hold the head count and wait it out. Expenses would go up, productivity would go down, reputation would be back to 2009 (heading there anyway). “Back to Basics” would mean “Back to Dumpster Fire”..

Honestly your Headcount attrition looks like this.

  1. Retirement
  2. Miserable people or top performers who are not appreciated.
  3. Contractors not being renewed.
  4. Small number of pin pointed layoffs. Mostly overseas locations.

Bottom line this bank has no appetite for large scale layoffs and paying severance and unemployment which can total up to 18 months.

That week was never on the “no monitor” list in general. Thanksgiving is the next one. So don’t take those comments about being in office that week as a sign for anything. It’s always been a 3-day despite Veterans Day.

We were told today that specifically that week even with a holiday now we must be in office 3 days where as before on a holiday week they weren't monitoring and they allowed an extra day at home . Guess that's going away now. All are being watched for the req days in office. Rumor mill is still 2025 5 days.. my campus just doesn't seem like there's enough room for everyone if they do. We have to reserve our seats.

You piece of x-x

Wait and watch what?
They should have removed you and your everything now and immediately.

You wait out your name on that list every minute of your natural life
