Please for the love of god do this. Most Cisco teams do not need ICs, managets, senior managers, directors, senior directors, VPs and SVPs when only the ICs are doing the work.

You can literally get rid of 3 layers and nothing would happen.

Why stop at managers? We have 4 ppl managing much less than 20 employees. Tell me that is not insane? Oh yes we were impacted - lost an IC.

At least a director is coasting off the work done by the team by injecting unnecessary workload aka stupid ppt work. They know who they are. And all the management people in our group are well over 40.

You can be a G10 manager with a cr-p salary and have people with much higher salaries reporting to you. Maybe you mean execs or VPs? Also span of control is ridiculous in some places.

It’s makes sense to layoff a deadbeat either they are manager or not…

I’ve seen how much more managers make compared to the folks actually doing the work and it would make your head spin.

This is not always the case. I'm a leader and make significantly less (by face value) than half of my ICs. But when you calculate the salary equivalent between locations, it's not so significant but still a little more.
Are these managers you are referring to located in the bay area? And where do the ICs reside?

It doesn’t concern you that Amazon is doing a massive LR?
The economy is tanking and the companies with the biggest buffers are cutting massively.

AWS is getting leaner and meaner and playing to win by getting rid of dead wood managers and insisting everyone put the pandemic in the rear view mirror and come to the office everyday or submit their resignation

When is the last time you saw a mass manager LR? It doesn’t happen at CSCO, because they only showcase themselves and hide their staff from higher management it’s a survival strategy.

That would increase efficiency and Cisco doesn’t do that. ELT probably want to add more layers.
