Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Talking Cat 4 right now. Spoke with a neighbor and his nephew is/was told he would be heading to Florida. Told today that with the storm forecasts increasing in magnitude he would be heading East. They aren’t sure at this point. Lot of insurers have left that state and about to possibly get worse.

Oh it’s coming, just a matter of where and how high of surf and winds.

Stanky is looking at ways he can surplus a hurricane now.

Forced OT is no surprise. End of quarter around the corner. Wall Street will be looking at what effect the strike had on the numbers.

Always laughable to hear the fantasy stories of a large percentage of people crossing. I heard if the strike extended for a 2nd month, 75% of the CP force would have quit. They already had worked Stankey’s free OT long enough and being away from their families 12/6. The contractors doing pole transfers were a joke too, big safety risks.

We have so much work, already into double time the first week back. Now that contractors are gone some groups are going to forced OT.

Heard from some folks that if this had lasted into the 2nd month 10-20% more would have crossed. Sure some will make up for some of those losses with OT. Wonder how many will go out again if TA isn’t ratified.

They made need to reactivate the expertly trained CP force.

Let's not kid ourselves, CP managers were already being replaced by contractors, and they'll just resume from where they left off.

Rejecting the TA will be a small bump for the company, but the gig is up. You won't catch them with their pants down again.

Noooo! We are still trying to clean up the mess left by the CP experts during the strike. Love their “permanent repairs” and completed jobs, made double time last week. If a major hurricane hits then everyone will be making $$. Hopefully it doesn’t hit but if it does, no one gets injured.

Be forewarned, hopefully it moves off into the Atlantic but doesn’t look good. If it hits at Cat 2 or Cat 3 could be a lot of damage.
