Should every team put up a sign that says "It's been X days since the last layoff round" and see how many times per year or even month it gets reset to zero? If it was company-wide, we would rarely get above 7 days, but since it's per team, we might actually reach a month or two.

actually it will never get above 14 because they tend to happen every Tues following a pay day.
