Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Dear Inept Managers

Learn how to have a conversation with your direct reports if they are impacted by RTO.

Don’t tell them that you “understand” ESPECIALLY if you THE MANAGER are a remote employee. You don’t understand.

Don’t tell the employee with children that you understand if you THE MANAGER do not have children. You don’t understand.

Don’t tell them employee that has to commute through a dangerous city if you THE MANAGER live in a white utopia town. You don’t understand.

Ask yourself if you did everything possible to get your employees coded as remote. Did you? Didn’t think so.

Sincerely,

Someone who F’ing Understands

@3lch+1uGRE2Ej - There is an employee in HR that was promoted and coded as being in the office. Out of nowhere she was recoded as remote while her peers on the same team are RTO. Exceptions are being made for individuals and for entire business groups. Also, certain employees are being placed in branches/offices close to their homes rather than being assigned to a hub. I am coded as RTO while my peer in the same metropolitan area is going to remain remote. These are facts.

Sincerely,

Someone in HR

I wonder how true the 30 mile radius is now that they removed reference to it in the FAQ. I think they will arbitrarily change the radius to 50+ miles. The true goal is to get to employees to quit to avoid paying severance.

White utopia? That's why DEI is a joke. Attitudes like that.

There is nothing managers can do to get employees coded remote. At least in my department. We have hired employees as remote during the last four years but if they are within 30 miles they are moved to 3 days per week. No exceptions. Perhaps higher up there is someone with that power. I am a low level manager and I know my boss and their boss cannot do anything about it.

I know of a few employees that were hired on as fully remote, but are forced RTO even though they live over 50 miles from a hub.
Most underhanded piece, one employee lives in the same neighborhood as their manager. The employee is forced RTO while the manager is allowed to stay fully remote.
Another employee was told their RTO was due to available public transportation ( Bus)
It’s a 2 hour bus ride with two connections for the 50 mile ride to work.
This company became horrible once the little Indian took the reins.

I work in risk and the head of my area talks about how important RTO is, YET his five most recent hires have been remote. Do as I say, not as I do!

If the rank and file employees have to go to the office so should the remote managers. The manager doesn’t live close to a Hub? Too bad, so sad. Uproot your lives and relocate to a Hub city or GTFO of here. Be inhumane to those without a voice, be inhumane to people “leaders”. An 👁️for an 👁️
