Calm before storm?

I haven't heard any layoff in my business unit in last 3 months. Does it mean they are brewing up something for Thanksgiving?

Alot of Indians will get deported.

Chase does not need talent; we aren't a product based company.
That's why they buy dirt cheap labor from India and most jobs are offshored.
My team got rid of 3 subteams which was gobbled up by 5 teams in India.
I'm trying to move out.
When your ed and vp is telugu with your skip in India, never ever join that team especially if you're not indian.
It's a dead end career su----e.
They will give you bad ratings and also block you from all meetings to prevent you from doing productive work.
I learned this too late.

Swe development is no longer considered high talent.
Even your grandma's and grandpa's and uncles are all doing.
There are so many fat indian aunties incompetent at best

Telugus cheat alot; they have their own fraud consulting paper companies where they fake resumes and that's how they only hire their own kind.
My ED only picks consultants from those Telugu paper companies that you've never heard of.
Often times, they don't know anything; they say they have 10 years of experience, they don't even know how to google for simple stuff I had to teach them how.

Telugu are misunderstood because of their success. Take satya nadella and arvind krishna, for example top CEOs. Silicon Valley and Hyderabad thrives because of Telugu people. Gujarati, Tamils, punjabis, Chinese struggle to compete at the same level, often seen as lower

Alot of ppl got Gs regardless of performance.
So it is rigged; for 4 years of working at chase; I dont believe rif is due to performance.
It's all politics, chase doesn't talent, in fact, they can hire someone in India to do it; that's what my ex team did who were all run by telugu and I switched because I knew I will have at least 1 G

Last year alot of ppl got Gs and scrum master told me it was due to the monthly rifs for 2024.
I couldn't believe it, I got one G and it was 100% on purpose; also i was non-indian, even though I had good reviews and got thank you notes from my teammates.
So I wouldn't be surprised if they're will be alot of Gs this year cause someone said there will be more cuts next year and plus most swe jobs have been going to india

This is true. I see the same with TELUGU people. Most of people in org are from same language ethnicity. Managers groom team members for promotion, high visibility project and ratings. Last year one Non-Telugu was laid off due to different, even though he was a good performer.

@5evj+1uIehkT2 This is true ,the same thing happened to me. If you end up on a project where the majority share the same ethnic background, managers may find a way to replace others with someone from their own background .

Yea I've heard from people that managers will often funnel work to the person they plan to get rid of, so that they either quit or unable to meet goals and can be soft fired. What is more messed up is sometimes they do so to people that aren't the same ethnic background as them, so look around and if you the odd one out skin color wise time to update that resume #diversity #inclusion

This happened to me last year. We got a new manager. During annual review time new manager waited last minute while I was on Thanksgiving or Christmas vacation to release and sign off my review. That was a huge mistake because I was off on holiday and didn’t have time as I was busy with family. I was kind of cornered into signing off on it. I was like PK…this is a first…

Basically that was also the first non good performance review I had at the firm. I later found out the new manager was giving me a bad review not because of my true performance but because the manager didn’t want me, a hire from a previous manager, on his team. They will lower your review score if they don’t like you regardless of your actual performance.

They can weed people out by changing performance metrics so they can get rid of under performers without layoffs. This is also known as soft firing.
