It's easy to complain and worry. What you should be doing is getting your resume updated, polishing your LinkedIn profile, and being ready to move if needed. Job security is all about knowing you can work anywhere. Focusing on that mindset will make you feel more in control, no matter what happens with this place. It certainly helped me.

OP sounds like Jodi.
Glad it's working for some. Job market is cr-p in my area and LinkedIn is crawling with ghost jobs.
I 100% agree. When I was laid off not that long ago, I saw the writing on the wall for several months prior. I used those months well. I updated my resume, made sure my LinkedIn profile was crisp, and applied for strategically selected positions. It took me about six months to find the right roles, but when I was finally laid off I had three yes three job offers either in hand or within a couple of days of being in hand. I was in control of my own decision-making and own career. It was a really good feeling. Best of luck to all of you.
I'll also say from what I've seen the lay offs aren't about talent, so doing your best work doesn't protect you at all currently.
I think this is mute when corporations across the board have decided to push back against employees. Honest to God it feels hostile at this point and makes zero sense when there were record profits for the largest companies during the pandemic. At this point we need the government to step in to at least make it easier for smaller companies to compete that would actually treat their employees better. There's a gridlock of money and power right now and that's the real issue for workers.
