@1egr you do a quarter to a third of heads worth of work. Why should any company pay a person for 8 hours worth of work when you only do 2-3? It doesnt make financial sense and I am sure that the workers who do put in a legitimate days worth of work, feel that its fair.

What do you think is going to happen when you are exposed? I'll give you a hint.... you will get a meeting notice with HR.

@1egr+1uMUTi6V Why don't you go find a real job? You are exactly why RTO is necessary. There are too many greatly underutilized employees that should be let go. This problem has become worse in the last few years. If Amazon needs to return to office, what makes you think Ford, a manufacturing company, doesn't need to as well?

To summarize, it's not about returning to the office. It's about figuring out what your employees even do lol. If we had 3-5 days in office , some of my colleagues will have to find things to actually do then I think.

"My job just doesn’t require full time attention and I can easily manage my work 2-3 hours per day."

That's the way it's always been for most people most of the time, even before anyone ever heard of the "internets".

Watch the movie Office Space and the interview with the "Bobs". If it wasn't true, it wouldn't be funny.

Return to office should mean return to work - I would have to find things to do at work to look busy. My job just doesn’t require full time attention and I can easily manage my work 2-3 hours per day. All RTO is going to do is force me to spend time in the office, but there won’t be more productivity as I don’t have more work to do. I will be spending most of the day on my phone at work keeping up the appearance of work.

RTO won't fix anything. Too bad if you don't believe it or don't want to hear it, but the problem is way bigger than that. That said, this thread is full of the same old stuff from the bitter cry babies that have to work onsite because their jobs can't be completed otherwise, so they come here on this site to literally stand behind the likes of DF yelling "Yeah, what he said!" Think about this when you're sitting amongst your team listening to someone carry on about scheduling a holiday party or other so-called team building events. I will not RTO for 5 days a week, and I believe I will eventually lose my job because of it (if I don't quit first), but I'm ok with that. Working at Ford simply isn't what it used to be, and that's not a compliment.

You anti-RTO people need to get a grip. You complain about the food, parking, drive time, office su-kups, shared spaces (which does su-k), bad buildings etc. What do you think it was like pre covid? You should have worked in the Rouge office dungeon or the prototype plant offices, then you would have something to complain about. Lets get down to the nittygritty, you guys have gotten used to working in your jammies and fuzzy slippers and are balking at going back to the office just like a toddler who gets told they cant have candy before dinner.

STOP IT and start acting like a f-ing grownup!

Solution to the whiners : Start your own car company from scratch, so that everybody can “work from home” while they are doing personal things.

DF is totally right in justifying full time RTO. Experts have proven this, studies have shown. It is a primary path to success of the company for everybody from working level to top leadership to be collaborative.

Ford employees should be back in the office five days a week. Hopefully it will start soon.

I would expect DF will order us back 5 days per week starting in 2025.
My LL6 is real good to work and I have no intention of sandbagging her, but you will not see me in Dearborn on Fridays.

Pay for overpriced food? Why spend any money at or around the office?
