Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

14 WF branches unionized or in the process

... at recent count, earlier this year.

"Committee for Better Banks’ Wells Fargo Workers United is the only public effort by Wells Fargo employees to organize a union. With a union, workers are seeking to address chronic understaffing, unfair sales pressure, and unreasonable workloads to improve their working conditions..."

I'm guessing there are no union contracts to actually protect WF employees at this point...looking forward to seeing how this all plays out, given the nationwide branch closures and outsourcing to India.

I don't know why people are down voting this person's post. It's obviously true. I have a relative that actually works in TP production, and it's almost entirely domestic. Port strikes won't influence it much, unless you live in Alaska or something.

I don’t want union wages as I don’t settle for mediocrity. I work harder and smarter and make more than average due to it. Impact is important. I don’t want my wages pulled down by the productivity of the laggards in the group.

"Hey Union, did you all start this strike on the East coast ports? Toilet paper is out most everywhere. Let the shart jokes roll. Lol."

this is ridiculous. I see a lot of TP is gone at sam's club, scamdemic style, but I read that 90% of of TP is made domestically, with the other 10% being from canada and mexico.

didn't figure we were getting chinese TP getting shipped in..................

Conduct management isn’t that the team that causes a bunch of drama and HR issues?

20 branches are actually unionized now and there is a pending election for the conduct management team which will be the first internal non-customer facing team to unionize with many more non branches unionizing in the future. Also, to the question above, salaried employees can also join the union. The managers however cannot unionize.

I have worked in a union environment. It was awful. The union was worse than the company and pushed agenda that helped union leaders. Union enables the worst employees to get by with doing next to nothing and keeps good employees from being recognized.

We are moving to AI (All Indian), ya $schmuck.

You will just see a monitor in an empty building.

A virtual drawer will commence whatever transaction is needed.

Can you unionize salaried staff? Asking for a friend.

Good for them. Start with branches then go to corporate. I used to be against unions but after seeing how Wells treats their greatest asset they are long overdue.

If unions weren't good for the working class the wealthy wouldn't try so hard to make unions sound bad.

Yeah. Unions are not the answer and only advance TL and his agenda. Dude probably get commission off everyone that signs up.

This is why cs/hy is going for CIB and WFA. Investment management and not loans/mortgages is where it is at.

It seems as if the Union can only help the brick & mortar branches somewhat. I say that lightly, as they can't keep the company's decision makers from closing branches. Seems like they can make the 14 branches who have joined feel safe. It seems too late for branches, call centers, and other departments closing down to get any union help or protection. You would be correct, for the majority of the rest of us, our jobs are being sent overseas. My relative worked for a unionized company for 32 years. They would go on strike for higher wages all the time. One of my relative's coworkers was fired for cussing out a customer, and the union got that person's job back. Then after 32 years, the company my relative was working for closed up and moved to New York. My relative & their coworkers could have kept their jobs if they up and moved to New York. The Union couldn't help save their jobs then. Your Union can't save our sinking ship now in the call centers and departments, etc., that Wells Fargo wants to displace. You're good for any remaining branches that want to Unionize until the company decides they would no longer need that remaining branch in some region. Just stop talking about your Union, and giving the rest of us false hope on this sinking ship.
