Wow, didn’t see this coming.

Wide speculation but, I would not be surprised if he moves from board member to c-suite here.

https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20240624944397/en/AST-SpaceMobile-Welcomes-Chris-Sambar-Head-of-Network-ATT-to-Board-of-Directors

AST is in a position to have massive growth if they can pull off satellite-based connectivity for off the shelf mobile devices. That equals stock options that might actually be worth something! Their first five commercial satellites are in orbit and will hopefully come online in the very near future.

Again, wide speculation but, when you post anonymously you can do that can't you?!

With John Stankey out the door, that will leave only Jeff McElfresh to lead as CEO.

I bet that’s why Sambar left.

"I was an Army Paratrooper"

Exactly how far removed is that from a Tier 1 Operator? Thought so.

I just think this shows that things are going downhill and people don’t want to admit to it, we shall see what happens but I don’t like the sound of someone like him leaving. I think this sounds like the higher executive team is making some questionable changes and people are leaving before more stuff hits the fan. Wishing them nothing but success.

Someone at that high a level doesn't leave all of a sudden unless something serious happened. Either he dipped into something he shouldn't have or something else. He was too young and was moving too fast for him to get up and go especially with Stankey getting up in age.
He was pretty arrogant especially when it came to addressing his older employees.

I am sure he found a new position forcing people back into crowded rooms for no productive purpose and costing millions in productivity. I am thinking the Department of Corrections must have scooped him up. Or maybe the public school system.

Sambar not being replaced. Executive layer collapsed by 1!

I am reading a lot of hate on here. I did not know much about Mr Sambar other than he was the head of our org. I just read that he was a former seal commander. Now that speaks a lot. I was an Army Paratrooper and I know a little bit about hard training and stuff like that. For the most part the comments on here seem positive. Again I think that speaks volumes. There seems to be a lot of people who do not like AT&T but I see there still taking their money. If you don't like the company that much just leave. Good luck Mr Sambar and to all the weaklings that are complaining but staying employed with AT&T just shut up...

He was a good guy and I think looked out for his team. Probably the best and only real leader we had. It’s serious loss for the network org.

At first, Sambar was indeed a straight Sh00ter, and would answer questions and give you answers that parted ways with the official BS.

He tried to innovate, but his hands were tied.

As time progressed, he seemed to support the official BS saying it was great. He began to conform to the ways of the Stink.

I think he could not take the Stink's BS any longer and just got a better deal elsewhere. Or he mouthed off to the wrong person.

He probably just got tired of the circus. It’s a real $h!+ show in our org right now with the amount of talent lost since they were not in a hub city. Oh well. Will see who’s next up any bat

Thats a disappointment. Feel like he did a pretty decent job leading the organization and working and dealing with whatever nonsense he had to deal with from Stankey. Sounds like he has a much better opportunity someplace else.

Who is he and why is it news? Was that announced internally only?

Just saw the announcement.

Would love to know the real story here. Don't think we ever will unfortunately.

He's caught his share of flak here, but I always found the guy to be a straight sh00ter for the most part. The fact that he was a SEAL commander speaks to his character. Most of the executives here wouldn't make it through Air Force boot camp, let alone SEAL training.

Anxious to see where he lands.

Chris should be escorted out.

Kinda sounds like he is not leaving on his own choice. We will see if he pops up somewhere else.

I’m actually very concerned for the direction of my org now. This is not good.

Should have been Stankey, with Sambar promoted to CEO.

There’s no one else up there that can lead right now.

Because RAN work is actually going to Ericsson, and he said it wouldn’t?

Guess he did not like it here so he left. Same as*hat who said "if you do not like it here, leave" Glad he took his own words and finally lead.
