Thought the purpose of RTO was to "collaborate with others". Do they want us talking to people and collaborating or do they want us to sit at our desks and just type a certain number of words each day. Can't have both!
They also have someone follow you around the office that you can’t see. And install a camera in your home to watch you work. Break out the tin foil hats - this post has gone off the deep end
It's more than keystrokes. They record everything you've done for the last 45 days. It can basically be played back. The data is stored on the largest database in the company. But there are no reports generated, it's available to managers if they have a reason to investigate you.
Different stroke for different folks.
This metric is a poor measurement of productivity, some jobs are lots of yapping on the phone.

Wrong....keystrokes and all that have been recorded for years, maybe 15-20? They do not actively monitor these though. You need HR approval to begin that investigation. Almost like a cop with probable cause needing a warrant.

Denise Prudhome was an employee working on a mostly-vacant floor in Tempe, AZ while the rest of her team were working remotely since they are geographically dispersed and hadn't been forced to RTO yet. She died at her desk sometime between Friday when she swiped in and Tuesday morning when her body was found...still at her desk.
You would think that they could narrow down the time of death based on when was the last email she sent or replied to, Teams chats, or file moves.
Be careful. They will fire you if you make too many key strokes.
