Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

They don't care

The RTO mandate proves once and for all that the management doesn't care about employees. They don't give a damn about our mental health. They don't care that they promised some of us remote work and are now going back on it. They couldn't care less about attrition. In fact, getting more people to leave on their own is probably one of the goals. They simply don't care.

Of COURSE they don’t. Neither does any other company, especially publically-traded ones. Do your job, go home, and leave the work at the office. No reason to do anything more.

They should care but it will be too late to save sinking ship after what they did to us with this RTO. I know I’ve cursed them all at the top and there is no way they will crawl back from the mess they created. They act like Covid never happened with this shared desk garbage. These neighborhoods they assign remind me of concentration camps where you will have nothing and you better be happy. Go to he-l demons.

RTO is a war on workers at this point. They don't care about inflation, they don't care about housing prices, they don't care about commutes on the environment. Why would anyone comply with RTO when layoffs and outsourcing are rampant? It's not worth our effort.

Give it time and the three days a week RTO will soften over time. Many employees will inevitably quit causing USB to dangle remote roles to candidates to get them to want to work here. If a cycle. A cycle that will tarnish USB’s reputation for years to come. Given the pace that executives are being pushed out, it will be anarchy soon. Hang in there and DO NOT quit without have a solid job lined up.

RTO is being implanted everywhere- primarily to restructure. The economy is sinking. RTO is a soft layoff- some will leave and that provides a natural attrition. Then they offer early retirement/severances, then reduce hours. This job market is not good right now. It su-ks, but start looking for something new. Layoffs are inevitable.
