I didn't dislike my job until the latest round of layoffs. The management has mishandled things to the point that I can't see myself staying here because I don't trust them not to run the entire place into the ground. They showed how little they respect employees, and I have no intention of working for such people.

Exactly, 100%. I planned to stay at CDW until I retired at 65. That plan is gone. This was discussed with my hiring manager 4 years ago when I came over as a Principal FSA. All bets are off now unless I see changes at the top. The calls and emails I was getting from hiring mgrs, and recruiters will be returned in earnest. Ive talked to a few of my coworkers about this, and they are doing the same. CDW has a big reputation problem that they are either ignoring or not willing to acknowledge. So much for "employees are our greatest asset".
Good luck to all those that were RIFFed. I really hope you find something soon that was better than what you had.

It was definitely sketchy. Management apparently was not involved. I had to tell my manager i was getting laid off. According to him he was shocked. I was a tenured seller. No performance plan"
- That's because your manager is a f*cking liar. He/she knew. My manager did the same, and I already know he lies to me.

Go for it! Q4 here in this market might be tough from a hiring opportunity perspective but you could test the waters - see if you can land some interviews and see what’s out there for pay, etc. If nothing materializes no biggie - hit it harder in the new year. Jan can be soft but Feb should start picking up.
I really enjoyed the people I worked with but like others …lots
Trust is very essential to business and like you found, sorely lacking from observations. It will continue to be "laser focused" and other scandalon (Greek word) until luck runs out and its auction block time.
True

Wishing you luck as a recently separated party from this company (5 weeks shy of my 8 year anniversary). Over on LinkedIn when you search "CDW" you get a weird slightly dystopian mix of ads, separation announcements (2.5 years, 13 years, 19 years, etc.), and PROMOTION announcements which I wasn't expecting! How did so many people get promoted the same week so many of us were kicked to the curb?
