Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Work smarter, not harder

If you’re really good at your job, you might be perceived as a threat to the person who is in charge of promoting you. If that happens, you're sh-t out of luck. Instead of busting your butt, try working smart. Make sure you are still getting things done but don't go overboard. Don't draw too much attention to yourself. It's the T way.

There is zero incentive to bust a-s as a superstar employee when they are paid the same amount as the one who drools on themselves all day long.

( My biggest pet peeve about the Union is hard work and efficiency are ignored )

In the end, said superstar figures this out and dials things way, WAY back to do little more than anyone else.

"how ethical and moral is forcing employees to relocate well aware that there are no guarantees of long term employment after moving?"

No one is being forced, or has assurance of long term employment at their present location.

"Op , you have zero character are unethical and will never ever be anything above a 1st level manager. The thought of coming on here and posting that someone “cannot “ get ahead with hard work is absolutely disgusting. "

The hypocrisy, how ethical and moral is forcing employees to relocate well aware that there are no guarantees of long term employment after moving?

True. I have been the first in line for new “projects,” only to find they are tasksI complete to help someone else get promoted.

You are so right. My peers constantly call slow coworkers lazy. I think they are geniuses and wish I had the capacity to calm my urge to get things done.
