FOB = Friend of Brian - known HR term for untouchables. Other noticed this? I feel like it has gotten worse than it has ever been in the past.

@4siw+1uVggLrc - Can't say I've heard him called a monster either. I'm not a corporate guy and far from a ladder climber and I have respect for him. I'm as blue collar as they come so I guarantee you will not see us playing golf together. He's been here for years and he has the scars to prove it. Look at any president, they take the job looking healthy, fit, and rarely a grey hair. Look at the same president four years later and you will notice a big difference. Brian is leading one of the largest companies in the world. He's been in the spotlight for positive and negative news. He's handled whatever comes his way like a professional. How is he a monster?
@4siw+1uVggLrc - am curious - in what way(s)? I've never heard him called out as a "monster" before. (serious question)
Brian shows up to the WEF event every year, he’s a monster. Why would you expect anything better from cronies?
the tech and data is way to broken to automate anything or anyone successfully. they'd have to invest significantly more NOW to stand a chance...
I've been working in data in the FLU for years and it is astounding how bad it is. every day I am amazed the place still operates...
If you know what your ideal job is, let BAC train you for it, get experience doing it. Then bid internally and externally for a better role. First one hires you wins.
Because if this place changing is the only way you will be happy, you are doomed here. It ain’t changing in your life time, maybe get worse. That is top/down.
Otherwise, cash that check, pay them bills, invest what you can and get on with life. It’s just a job to support the obvious until something better comes along.
I agree most managers are just in it for themselves. After 21 years I say it all the time. If I was coming out of college banking would not be the choice. Listening to Dean and David's last sit down. David stated 60% of BOA will be automated in the next 10 years. Let that sit in for a minute and marinate.
The people I have seen move into management roles at all levels in the last 15 years are motivated to become managers only to do everything they can to build their careers and feed their egos, nothing else. They do not care about the teams they manage and in most cases don't even want to talk to them or understand their struggles or their career goals. No experience or basic management skills requirements are needed anymore. Education requirements have been diluted over the years, that's blatantly obvious. It's sad for such a big company, but it is happening fast and I'm glad to be close to retirement. I feel bad for those that will have to live through the downfall and put up with all this accepted mediocrity.
In the past, FOA friends of angelo, was customers who were given no-questions-asked mortgages.
@1wan+1uVggLrc - exactly! Big fat open secret.
The management culture (can't even bring myself to say "leadership") at this company is seriously flawed and has been for DECADES. Nothing new. Only difference is which regime. Each one progressively worse.
I like Brian and respect much of what he did after the '08 Financial Crisis when they could not find anyone willing to take that job.
But the people he chooses to surround himself with -- horrible, petty, tantrum-prone, underqualified self-entitled prima-donnas. The bona fide Fake It Til You Make It crowd.
I think their innate insecurities (they know they wold not have their job at any other firm and only have it b/c of Brian), plus their over-inflated egos make them act out in the meanest ways. They are truly depolorable and poor Brian (will not?) see it at all.
They are ATROCIOUS and new managers copy their behavior. It trickles down to infect our entire org. The silly employee survey doesn't stand a chance.
Brian needs to clean house first. He is too loyal to his friends. (or maybe he thinks that make them more loyal to him. It's sick.)
I have experienced over 30 years of harassment from managers. Well documented. Nothing new.
