Just heard that there were a handful of layoffs this week.

As another poster pointed out (and had their post removed!), it appears that Ford is using small monthly layoffs tied to performance to let people go. SMH

Cowards.

I heard about one interior chief who was walked out but clearly there were more based on your post. The one I know of was a good employee based on information from those who have known and worked with him for a long time.

Are there any rumblings in the office as why these chiefs were walked out?

That big wave started a long time ago. Ford has been a one trick pony (F-Series) since the 2000s. Launched a new Mustang that only sold little over 30k units... How do you keep Flatrock up and running? Instead of offering a vehicle people can afford they go out and keep coming up with low volume limited production package.. big deal FRAP can not survive on 30k volume...

Thank you. We were overdue for our typical apocolyptic warning about layoffs that cannot be substanciated by fact. We've really fallen off route here talking about other real topics.

I expect that Ford is waiting until after the November 5.

They don't want the bad PR of a big layoff to reflect badly on the the Regime.

Just stop it. They will do whatever the heck they want and there is nothing any of us salary can do about it. If we really want to help ourselves, we would unionize. Clearly the union though has an agreement with Ford to not approach the salary ranks. No other reason as if they unionized the salary, the UAW would truly be a force to be recognized. So clearly they cannot.
