When will it happen and what will be hit? There are a few rumors going around so it'd be nice to see if any of it could be true or not.

So basically it's coming by end of month...
The only way to determine when RIFs are near is when HR begins to 1) heavily promote the importance of the employees and how employees are the number one resource, 2) the excellent benefits, 3) the great pay structure, 4) excellent opportunities within the company, 5) education and training courses, and last, but not least, 6) being over 60% diversified.
It's that time of year again at VZ. RIF notice this month, so everyone is off the payroll by the end of year.
Not making light of RIFs, it is bs. Most of the employees that unfortunately are RIF'ed will be replaced by a recent grade with zero knowledge for much less money or outsourced. VZ owns nothing overseas, but rent a lot of foreign employees.

Verizon Value was/is a big strategic mistake that took the once most premier network and rented it out on the cheap to both prepaid and competitors while ignoring maintenance issues. This created a big battle between engineering and strategy. 'Strategy' won and even the lowest breed among the prepaids and cable operators is in essence able to sell the same exact products that we sell - for less. Amazing I know.
