Thread regarding FactSet Research Systems Inc. layoffs

Desperate move by CRO & HR - Removing Posts

Unfortunate to see people cannot share their comments/feedback here before Helen and HR asking to remove posts. Similar to what they do in the company, reading Glint & Teams, they are trying to remove all facts about them.

I started a thread on Reddit and also X. Good news many have the screenshots of all comments from last posts.

Let’s see how earnings come in tomorrow. That will indicate if more layoffs and reorgs needed

Discrimination for taking sales, specialists, consulting, marketing, ELT, managers but no invitation engineering/products to Las Vegas.

We are not good enough? We didn’t work hard?

HRBPs look into this and not reading Glint or firing people

This is based on HS plans over the last years. She caused changes, reorgs and removed all departments. Have been part of DSO for most of my career and never seen it this bad.

They let go all head of CTS and put a new one who has no track record, and a YES man to ELT. Unsuccessful on collecting any data and running a big team where there are lost. He is lost to.

Specialists are good and what left of that team who have to do job of generalists, reporting to new head who ran EMEA to ground and disaster with EGP.

All because of New CFO ideas that none pay anything

Marketing worrying about their wellbeing AND can’t make it to the office. However they are ready to go to Vegas for sales kickoff and celebration in Oct.

We should have HRBP there in Vegas for promoting only RCS. Wait to see How many VPs and SVPs come out of sales. Head of Americas promoted everyone to SVPs last year but EMEA & Asia can’t get anyone nominated.

HRBP and Marketing try and remove posts and more will come. We will do even more at X and TruthSocial as we know head of marketing is not fan of both sources as she mentioned that already & publicly many times.

Do not mask the truth ... you got issues and fix it. All started with the ex CRO who ruined the company with PowerPoint, excel and reorgs.

Who is new head of pd?

by
|
Post ID: @egxh+1ucnk9Ej

HRBP will request deletion for these posts because of language but be silent spectators to bullies in the workplace. They’re toxic and bully people themselves in many cases. While being HRBP of a tech company, most would struggle to describe what FactSet is. Old time payroll specialists do not make HRBP.

It’s not just the CRO/CFO roles that weren’t posted, it’s also that the CEO is quick to judge without knowing sufficient facts. He went for employee engagement with his previous chief of staff without posting for the role. MD titles have been given out randomly, more in facilities than RCS, these roles do nothing and are inflated titles for old timers. CEO has failed in being pragmatic by listening to the loudest voices and ignoring the substance in them. The funny thing is, he never did global sales himself to make an appropriate decision for CRO. He is surrounded by people who tell him what he wants to hear, the more he hears of the same things, the more he believes them to be true rather than a sign of group think.

Everything predictable with RCS. Good to see them back from wellbeing holiday for 6mo. Just not the facts stickers and posters are back. No one even staring at those internally. We have them working on kickoffs & copying product teams ideas. Next is get together they have in Las Vegas.

Use appropriate language so HRBP cannot remove posts.

Not sure why anyone surprised here. All hirings, promotions, and interviews are hand picked and predecided in RCS. Look at all layoffs: men & all promotions: women.

HRBP in many meetings/interviews block candidates. They try to find some issues with candidates so they can remove them from interviews & promotions.

2/3 promotions in company always from RCS. They have all SVPs,VPs so others cannot do any. They did MD without any process 2-3years ago. Same with finance promotion — should be easy to observe who decide on those promotions.

The group think/ cronyism is evident with the new CRO as well. It’s no wonder then that someone who failed miserably at NB and Sell Side in APAC has now moved to managing Consulting.

It’s not trust. It’s never challenging. Even the former gc and cfo couldn’t handle the group think anymore.

The CRO has lasted in the ELT for as long as he has because he is trusted by them - that doesn’t make him same as them but makes me wonder if he can take a stand when it really matters.

You are wishful thinkers. New cro is an insider like the rest of them. He’s been on elt for years and never said a word. It’s why he’s lasted so long. . Just enjoyed his stock options and big pay like the others

Congratulate our new CRO - everyone is very excited and time to move fast.

I want to thank our ex CRO for leaving the job - not much more to thank for. We needed a new CWO (Chief Weather Officer) as all we get from ITV and Sky are wrong forecast like sales.

See you everyone excited in FY25!!!!!!

No more layoffs please

Today feels like the Independence Day. Historic moment with tears of joy all around the world with FDSers. After all the pain we all went through, we have a new CRO who cares about the business and people, and not biased toward a certain people or gender. Equal opportunity for all and think about our clients first.

Advise for all - let us all come together and prove the problem was the leadership in sales and not people On those teams . We all care about each other so lets bring that back with the new CRO.

Wellbeing of marketing team is one thing, but we cannot find a soul to help us in Europe region as they take USA holidays too. Marketing in USA take bank holidays and now entire team is off. All of them preparing for Vegas CRO achievement. Look into that team. Started with 50 and now over 100+

CHRO - you want to cut everyone’s salary who are on AWA - well start with marketing team. Most of that team is remote.

by
|
Post ID: @7izn+1ucnk9Ej

Marketing is one giant AWA-BRG. They should bring some creativities and not just copy everything from product and sales groups. To focused on internal communication vs market/prospects. Big team for what they do and no real ROI.

This is all from decisions current CRO/BCG made: firm types, EGP, Marketing, sales and spending two years not promoting sales instead CSR, BRGs, and putting down good employees with HRBP.

Cannot wait to hear EC with analysts . what’s worse: Biden vs Trump debate or CFO vs Analysts.

New CRO: make changes. You are already on your 3rd quarter with no more timeouts left. Get it done.

Post ID: @3vbu+1ucnk9Ej

It is just power-play started with Helen to Head of Americas, and to their defense is Marketing now. CRO wanted to take over everything before she got fired in that job. Head of Americas another land grabber wanting to take over EMEA and APAC, job she is not capable of doing.

Marketing is just a bloated team that does everything except market our solutions. They are just Helen favorites so they are hard to touch. The ones in the states are partially good. Rest in EMEA barely do anything except 10min videos. All are in countries where hard to cut.

RCS is broken - they cut all the decent people. Good ones were sent to APAC and EMEA & Helen cut them on the way back.

Adrift at sea. No compass. No rudder. No ballast and only tattered sales to show

It it ain’t woke fix it they say

Frederick Snow and his social experiment should come to an end. While noble , his DEI focus, CSR initiatives and broader focus on all external events that bear no import on the business have been a distraction and ineffective. The CEO forgot his most important mission - deliver for his clients, shareholders and the employees. He has hand selected a cadre of sycophants as ELT members and assembled a Board that knows very little about the business. McConigle should leave and retire. He has served to long on the Board and served poorly as Snow’s substitute for a compass. All the past execs that knew the business and cared deeply about the clients and fellow employees were forced out. They chose to speak truth to power and put forward real strategies and approaches. This was not looked upon favorably by Frederick. They all have been successful Execs outside at both public and private companies. They have all led successful business transitions and exits for their new companies.

Hearts and thoughts with those that remain. The new CRO is a man, but think he will last even though he is approaching retirement. You have a good human in him.

Well. Wealth leader is now cro. So there goes wealth. New head of wealth has zero experience in it. It’s time to move new cro to ceo. Only person w experience and respect in leadership. It may be too late but only chance to right this ship. People will follow and trust him. Only problem is he’s a guy It’s seriously how the bod thinks.

by
|
Post ID: @2tux+1ucnk9Ej

Agree that they really need a change in CEO, CFO and others. CEO got rid of all the male CRO and then hires someone with no sales experience. All the restructuring over the years with very little results. Wealth is OK but Buy Side and other groups are a mess with no clear direction but constant restructuring. These types of changes and lack of accountability never happened ten years ago with the prior management

by
|
Post ID: @2zlf+1ucnk9Ej

Last 2 years. Fds down almost 10%. MSCI , Morningstar , s&p each up 30 to 40 %. Doesn’t that reflect on ceo and bod ? Shouldn’t major investors demand a change at top This firm misses Hadley

Whether you look at Marketing, L&D, HR, Sales or Product - everyone is feeling the pain one way or the other. The crucial factor is the number of power hungry leaders at FactSet has gone up. The boys club has transformed into a ladies club. The lack of proper management systems has led to random overlapping roles. And I question how someone who had never done sales was given the mandate to lead the sales organisation but also someone who had no clue of product and consulting was making decisions about implementations, GTM strategies. The downfall for the CEO, CRO, HR, L&D has been an unwillingness to listen or improvise based on different market realities.

clearly everyone seems to care about themselves and their own bottom line. Capitalist mindset. You seem upset that marketing works less than you and don't have to show up to the office as much as you do. FDS is accommodating, if you needed an AWA and you're producing, surely they would lend some flexibility.

I find the Vegas trip extremely tone-deaf in this economic climate. No need to lash out at the peons, look to the leaders. they want lower levels fighting to keep attention and accountability off of them while they rake in millions in bonuses. Think about it

by
|
Post ID: @2xnl+1ucnk9Ej

They are allowed spending money while others suffer. Marketing and CRO spending 1M on Vegas trip in Oct while comp will be $#lt - bet we will see 50 people from marketing there running around. Year in review by marketing — ZERO . They probably make a move putting sales under them next.

I truly do not care about your wellbeing when you do not care about others. You get paid what you get because you are not doing your job. FDS pays well well when you actually work not when you work part time 2hrs a week. You keep adding people meanwhile everyone else has to cut. You are a cost center. I am a salesperson and cannot think of one thing you have done to improve my productivity. You are taking advantage of the situation over the last few years.

Go back to work or get out while enjoy your suburbs lifestyle.

As someone who formerly worked on the marketing team, I will say a lot of the people within marketing were either hiring during covid where there was more flexibility with where to work or they used to live near an FDS office but moved during covid and are no longer close to a physical office so have AWA. On the topic of headcount, I agree that some teams in marketing have an inflated headcount but that is not true for the entire department. There are other teams, like the one I was previously on that are working with a skeleton crew and have asked multiple times for additional help to get the job done and have been denied every time One team is particular lost key people due to the rounds of layoffs and internal politics and those roles have not been backfilled. And while GTM is incredibly important, marketing still has to make sure that they are keeping an eye on supporting sales with product awareness and client retention so time efforts are also heavily spent on that in addition to new products. Unfortunately, there often are conflicting opinions within the global sales org as to which products should be promoted/repromoted, how it should be done, and when, which causes a lot of strain on the marketing department’s resources and priorities.

Sorry but did it ever occur to you that not everyone can afford to live in cities or in expensive suburbs on FDS salaries? Getting multiple roommates in the city in your early 20's is one thing, but once kids are in the mix our lives are dedicated to supporting their wellbeing.

The new CRO needs to tidy up that team. I never see any of them around. They are always on either three months holiday or trips to the states for offsites. They never in the office or off camera adding themselves into meetings. Cut that team in half next round and you won’t feel a bit. Chargpt does what they do in 1yr in 60sec.

Post ID: @1doj+1ucnk9Ej

Marketing has been doing silent hiring. Like everyone else in RCS, they are hiring all AWAs and people who barely work.

They worked on 10min promo video for Focus - longer than the event itself & f-ing boring AF. It is two years with no GTM strategy or content. They need to focus on GTW (go to work) and come back to office & do their jobs.

by
|
Post ID: @1oqo+1ucnk9Ej

Do not think HR here is capable of using computer. They are busy reading Glint and reviews for next set of layoffs. It was told this is handled by marketing team at FactSet. They have 100+ people who are doing everything except their jobs. They sit around and trying to mute people and voices. That team is quietly growing & doing no real job.

|
Post ID: @jjv+1ucnk9Ej

This is hilarious. They just made sure that everyone who hadn’t seen the posts is now asking around for the screenshots or info shared on them. Quite something that the senior leadership lacks a thick skin to take in feedback especially when they preach about the culture.
