Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Leaves After Speaking Facts

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/exclusive-intel-board-member-quit-143944877.html

According to this, Tan called Pat & BOD out for bloated org, recommending specific cuts, etc. Basically everything we all knew. Sounds like Pat and BOD are still blinded and not checked into reality

"To Tan and some former Intel executives, the workforce appeared bloated. Teams on some projects were as much as five times larger than others doing comparable work at rivals such as Advanced Micro Devices, according to two sources. One former executive said Intel should have cut double the number it announced in August years ago."

No kidding.

There is so much of this bloat in IFS SFEG....
A lot of the people from other organizations flocked to IFS to "escape" from layoffs from other organizations. Now they're bloating IFS

When will the corpo damage control statement be released? Or is PG going to just wing it and say d-mb things and run his mouth like he is proned to? Hopefully he won't slander Lip-Bu Tan that will get him or the company sued. But you just don't know with PG, probably going to say "Lip-Bu Tan is in the rear-view mirror" and we're going to execute the same plan that he disagreed with, so we've asked him to leave.

LOL

Wow. At least one board member was well aware of Intel's real problems, yet Pat and the rest of the board fought him. Are they in denial or utterly foolish?

I was mostly supportive of PG's efforts until I saw this. The managerial bloat and rot at Intel is well known. I cannot understand why PG would block resolving it.

Nothing says your strategy is wrong quite like - "F-U I quit!"

This tells you everything you need to know. Old School Pat was the wrong choice. He is using same old nonsense logic and expecting a different result.

Tan grew frustrated as the board did not follow his recommendations over how to make the manufacturing business more customer-centric and to remove unnecessary bureaucracy, a person close to Tan said.

Note that his grip wasn't about not going fabless.

Tan has told people he believed Intel was overrun by bureaucratic layers of middle managers who impeded progress at Intel’s server and desktop chips divisions and the cuts should have focused on these people.

Intel will never succeed if there was pushback on this.

Crucified for vouching for a customer-centric approach. The exact thing Intel has refused to do in its existence - no whales anytime soon with that mindset
