Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Seems like the early retirement…

Incentives hit the spot with many… starting to hear about quite few that took it. Good on them…

Some people will need to be fired unfortunately or else they will still be working at Intel when they’re 70.

As expected, teams with lots of retirement eligible employees will have more volunteers and fewer ISPs. I know of one group (sale of hundreds) with very few volunteers, so expecting more ISPs there. Managers pretty much all know their VSP numbers now, but in general new headcount targets are not published. This could vary by org, ofc.

I’ve heard both that there was more takers than expected, but also that the reduction target was like 25% and not 15%.

I know a lot of Techs who have decided to apply for VSP thinking they are getting it. Going to be a lot of pi---d Techs walking around.

13% filled in Ireland by early retirment volunteers. Only leaves 2% for VSP volunteers.

None in my team who qualifies for early retirement took it, even though they're not productive, unfortunately...
