Not really. They can’t give you a bigger hint that you are not wanted lol

When I went through this wringer less than a year ago I got curious about that, emailed HR, and they emailed me a link to a page that seemed to say you need VP approval for like the first year but not after that.
However! Considering this company seems so large and unwieldy, I bet most hiring managers think what everyone else here thinks, which is a layoff is a lifetime ban. So, who tf knows honestly. Good luck!

Shell closed that loop hole a few years ago. Yes I believe it would take a VP to sign off on it.

It'll require VP approval so you'd better be "special". It'll probably easier to rejoin at a different location if that's an option.

Yes, As a contractor you can be rehired. Just not doing the exact same job. I know because I am former Shell, took severence, and now working as a contractor. Life is good.

Normally no, but this is shell, so if you know someone at top level then no problem.

I have read the same. If you leave on severance you cannot get rehired as FTE without leadership approval.

Perhaps as a contractor, but I heard senior leadership (EVP?) approval is required to rehire as staff, so not an easy process.

Yes you can. It has happened a couple times that I know of for sure.
