Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

I feel like for sure was put on the list but somehow might be safe?

I feel like I was put on the list but someone from the heavens might have saved. Is HR/legal making decisions to take ppl off of lists? Also in the hypothetical situation your sr director and the VP are on the list? What happens to their list lol are they like void now

The legal team will review lists to make sure there is nothing odd in the demographics such as too many over 40 or in a minority group. I have seen one case where legal removed a name. This happened right before the lay off.

I have seen cases where a Director lays off team members and then gets laid off himself. If you are laid off, you definitely will definitely not be saved if your boss is also laid off.

The well known strategy, taught to “leadership”, is to increase confusion at the lower levels to keep people a bit off balance — never knowing if you are actually on the list or not. (5 beers into a manager, and you’ll learn a few things….)

"A PM would never know anything. They ate probably getting work done to show their managers they have done something so to not get laid off themselves "
PMs at csco are an over rated lot that thinks they actually manage people on top of projects. News flash - 95% of the PM community su-k at their roles as do the theater managers. When I say the PM community su-ks I mean globally. Look at what id--ts manage the p&l if you want to see another reason margins have tanked. Corp took management of resources from the theaters so they could concentrate on managing the p&l, yet here we are along with the useless services sales teams. These teams should be absolutely gutted this time through. The theaters have failed yet again but there will be no accountability.

Your FLM trying to keep you safe by place you in as many area as possible. FLM can not tell you why. Anyway it is a kind act. My FLM did that to me but I still got LRed in Feb with good review rating every single year while at Cisco.

I work as a software developer in SBG, not talos, I’m in Canada.

What I’ve noticed that my team lead and PM started loading me with the projects and random tasks and it’s feeling like they trying to get results before I’ll be out in September.
FLM doesn’t really care but he didn’t care about the project even before this layoff. I’m a single-person team / IC on that service we built less than a year ago.

I’m so confused if they know they I’m going to be laid off why the heck they pushing for more work.

On other side I do see that they started splunk integration which is a signal to our BU. Unfortunately!

You seem like someone who wants to stay here and can't find a half decent job outside and keep complaining

Make up your mind…

Last I checked you were still on it. It’s a huge list with lots of people including VP and Directors.

I'm not really sure what you mean. You either will be on the list, or you won't. What makes you think that you've been removed from the lists?

I feel that lists are probably obtained by HR before the day of notices.
