A solar manufacturing company that announced plans in 2023 to expand to Colorado Springs has canceled those plans, citing rising infrastructure costs.
Meyer Burger, a Switzerland-based solar company, announced in July of 2023 its plans to open a high-performance solar cell manufacturing facility in Colorado Springs in 2024.
The facility was slated to be built off Garden of the Gods Road and was expected to employ more than 350 people.
Now, the company has decided to pull those plans, stating that infrastructure pricing increases were a major factor in the decision.
