Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Jesse Reed's org, CX Automation

Any news there? Heard no gossip myself, wondering should I start planning post-layoff vacay or are we not impacted?

SaC doesn't always make sense but he's pushing it anyway. Jesse is an id--t but he's not going anywhere anytime soon. He's a useful id--t.

While most of the comments are true, except for the poster experiencing Stockholm syndrome, the lil guy generally obfuscates actions through confidants with simulated empathy. You will not see it coming until it is too late. Plan accordingly.

Jesse and his “trusted team” are all not to be trusted, you cannot lead an organization through fear and intimidation. He has wrapped himself in a few cronies that back up his abusive and disrespectful behaviour, hoping that they can change perception. He and his old CMS leaders have destroyed the organization that he now leads, and with that many great and talented people.

Huge cuts in CX on Sept 16th, I think Jesse is staying

CX has automation? How much revenue has Jesse's organization bought in from CX automation? Jesse’s another VP that was in the right spot at the right time. He is now the CX Product leader, but his past ventures like CX Catalog or CX Automation has not bought in any revenue.

To be completely honest with you all, in reference to the many years that I’ve worked with/under Reed, I have never once felt undervalued, burdened by dictatorial attributes, or even humiliated… I honestly don’t understand where some of you are getting off commenting like this. I understand that he can be hard on his team from time to time, but that is only because he truly wants those who work with him to succeed, and if you can’t recognize that, you may have to search internally on that one… I’ve never seen him act in an uncaring manner to those who work with him, and truly, I couldn’t ask for a better mentor

Remember the time in an all hands Reed shoved fake money down a coworker's shirt?

If you think that standard Software Development CI/CD technology used in Infrastructure as Code is "too complex" and does not scale, then you probably deserve to be LR'd

Jesse manages through fear and humiliation. Each time he acquires talent from reorgs, he either LRs them or pushes them out because he feels threatened and wants to claim their achievements as his own. He has alienated several of his peer leaders along the way so he can "win." Meanwhile, he now has hundreds of smart people working for him that have no direction or strategy defined just so he can have his empire.
Good luck to the people in his org through this upcoming lay off. If you can't find another role outside of his team, it may be good for your mental health to get a package.

If we are getting rid of the dictators and running groups by fear then goodbye Adele

There are cuts coming in Jesse's org. Watch out... Ideally he is the one that should go! Who wants to continue to work for a dictator? Jesse org runs by fear and that is a very toxic environment if you ask folks in his org.

CX is so resource heaving and Services as Code is a disaster since it really can't scale. it is heavy people intensive, which is the opposite of large scale automation customers desire. The entire point around simplification is to not keep going to the vendor for help. CX works the opposite way since our BE and CX solutions are too complex for customers to adopt and we sell Services to customers to help :-)
