Replace Sellers with Virtual Offshored People

H1B plans and Indian led solutions internally need to be extended over to sales to save $$, expecially after this expensive GSX event every year in Vegas. Just have remote, offshore, cheap reps call on the partners every week and call it a day. Today’s sales org is overrated and way expensive.

Cause offshoring engineering and TAC to India has been such an “overwhelming success” for the company.

Saving a few bucks but your reputation getting utterly destroyed.

Engineering quality out of India is mostly trash. TAC quality, once the crown jewel of Cisco, also flushed down the toilet.

“ World class engineering and customer service don't have bangalore or mx in the description.”

well, from the state of things and the way competitors are sc--wing us in the market, having US in the description hasn’t proven to be better :/ Also, FYI, a very large chunk of Cisco Engineering is in Bangalore already.

It’s amazing to see such ideas from non-sellers.
The sales team seems overrated because the product is garbage. Make better products so that your sales team can sell. Instead of offshoring sales, the product and engineering teams should be held accountable. The 61% CPF is largely due to the lack of features compared to our competitors.

I buy most large strategic purchases from someone I never met overseas whenever they call on me. But that's me. I think Nvidia aws and Microsoft do it and their doing ok right

It against my expectation, I think they should move engineering to India.

Huh? Where have you been the last 15-20 years?
IBM had 280,000 employees last year (down from 435K in their glory days). It's estimated that 100,000 of them are in India (there used to be many more there).

"Offshore to Pakistan and see the $$$ roll in. Inshallah!"

Cisco is the company that built the internet. They do data communication and allegedly, AI, besides security. They don't need sui-idal truck drivers - so no jobs to offshore to Terrorstan.

My customers already pay extra for CN service so they don’t have to talk to anyone from India ever. Nice try.

Customers buy because of relationships. Face to face is critical for large success. Smaller deals virtual may work, but I’ve seen large deals die during covid due to virtual meetings. As soon as we were back face to face it changed the dynamics.

I'm on the Federal side so it's different, but our customers already loathe the TAC & HTLE process of dealing with someone from India or that they can barely understand.... the same was pointed out when I was in Enterprise. To the other comment; SMB and Mid-Market maybe...Commercial still has some big accounts though, so I don't see it being applicable.

Wondering should US allow this to happen? Who pay the tax ?

this is a great idea and long overdue as resellers do all of the selling and cisco reps are glorified admins pushing paperwork and collecting unearned commissions

I don’t think this would be a good idea for enterprise or public sector accounts. Commercial and small business maybe
