Cisco's Purpose - Power an inclusive future for all

"We pursue our purpose by closing the digital divide, empowering the future of work, fighting for equality and social justice, and building a regenerative planet."

It's truly fascinating just how out of touch Cisco's leadership team really is.

Huh? How are those two things in opposition?

They are not - that is the point. A critique of globalization must include a critique of transnational capitalism which helped propel it forward. Many on the right only want to mention the former without its roots (the latter).

Let's all do the Wokey Wokey Hokey Pokey! Throw your hands in the air like you don't care. Equity means we all wind up in the same place. So don't work any harder than the laziest person in your group.

"The governor and I, we were all doing a tour of the library here and talking about the significance of the passage of time, right, the significance of the passage of time. So, when you think about it, there is great significance to the passage of time in terms of what we need to do to lay these wires. What we need to do to create these jobs. And there is such great significance to the passage of time when we think about a day in the life of our children."

Idiocracy

Ironically, ... (word salad) ... boat all the same.

You ate every bit of that salad and enjoyed it.

who are PWNED by the leftist of left

Yes, and we live in a liberal society and a liberal globalist system. Let us look at a company where the CEO completely opposed this. Elon Musk fired a significant portion of the people working at twitter. He did not rehire a comparable staff that adheres to his own ideology, instead arguing that the platform did not need that many people to run anyways. The grass is not always greener on the otherside. Facing advertiser revolts and now bans in some countries - it really doesn't seem like Musk will be able to grow his particular company the way he may have envisioned. That is the reality of the liberal framework we live in whether we want to admit it or not. Cisco is hardly unique in this respect. Corporate America as a whole has been instrumental in spreading liberal values both within the US and around the world (which benefits business at that global level) for decades now. I can't say for certain what the next few decades will have in store, but the Internet and tech revolution has always had a balance of for-profit capitalism and liberal globalization.

Woke is very simply Cisco’s effort to pander to the real owners: Institutional investment firms like BlackRock (Chucky is on the BoD) who cater to places like California an New York who are PWNED by the leftist of left. That’s all.

Yup, class of 2023 with a major in "Grievance Studies"

Ironically, there is one side of today's domestic political paradigm that is rife with grievances (and I would even agree with some of them). The "woke" agenda is sort of like AI currently - it is more of an excuse than a reality. AI is an excuse for businesses and corporations to reduce their workforce while raising stock value (capitalism at its finest). The promotion of "wokeness" is an excuse to distract people and workers with nonexistent differences so that they continue to quarrel over less important or unimportant matters. All while wealthy capitalists continue to benefit and exploit everyone and uphold their standard of living - a standard of living from which some of that "woke" ideology is derived. While we are all in the same boat...the difference is some of us are looking out into the ocean (forward and backwards), realizing what is actually happening out in nature (and how we got here). Others are below deck, drinking and mumbling and looking for easy answers as well as scapegoats to blame the rough waters on. In the end, everyone onboard will go down with the boat all the same.

Inclusive means exclusive.

No, it means preventing a system of privilege and arrogance built on historical prejudices and slavery.

Empowering means enslavement.

Certainly, and one thing we've really become enslaved to is technology. Capitalism has a major role to play in that, but it sounds like your promoting it.

Regenerative means anti-capitalism.

Plants (and the planet) over profit - yes.

Social justice means injustice and violence.

Capitalism, like communism and any number of other ideologies, has its fair share of injustice and violence. Nothing wrong with advocating for social justice...but one should be as fair and objective and even-handed when dealing with this. Many want social justice only when it aligns with their political ideology or political party (which is hypocritical).

The future of work means very few workers.

Well, both AI and outsourcing are a consequence of capitalism and globalism. So one should not defend the very ideology that is causing them angst and grief.

You'd think a company would want to simply deliver high quality products and services that delight their customers.

No wonder this company is so f'ed up.

Inclusive means exclusion of any groups of people that leftist envy is destroying.

Inclusive means exclusive.
Empowering means enslavement.
Regenerative means anti-capitalism.
Social justice means injustice and violence.
The future of work means very few workers.

Hmmm there are a few iconic books that predicted all of this...

Correct. They bought into w0ke garbage, and as every other company has proven, it doesn't actually lead to financial or market strength.

Is if Chuck is a strong enough leader to change the mission, or will he need to be replaced to right the ship? He probably has less than one year to make his choice.

It sounds like they figured out 'changing the way people learn' turned out to be counterproductive.

I suppose "setting up and configuring our own networking solutions to work correctly inside our own company" or "someday our software will work," despite being laudable yet impossible goals, wouldn't be the image boosters they're looking for.

Have a Coke and "Enjoy Thirst."

It is truly real. On regenerative planet aspects, Cisco can control volcanoes and plate techtonics. How? With each LR, the employee's laptop is shipped to one of the world's active volcanos, and ceremonial thrown into the lava basin as an offering to the Volcano Supreme Beings.
