Why we need a full fledged BA team?

I know there are requirements where we need, but for our case team is pretty old ,we used to deal with clients, why we need a full fledged BA team who are comparatively newer than developer. And these BA s are thinking themselves as parallel leads. I understand it reduces load in normal situation, but in this crunch situation why company is not considering this as luxury?

BAs are symptomatic of feminist groupthink

But again I don't think it will make any difference, I feel myself like a crying baby or barking dog, whose crying or barking make no difference because the competition here is who can do better foot licking..and BA in my team is far better in that than me and I am the worst :(

Agree with OP, ofcourse it's overhead for the developers but we're already doing more with less. As per my experience there's a very less value addition. Asking questions, domain knowledge etc. I didn't see at least my team's BA doing that in the first place but even in that case if a team is having old developers it won't make a big difference is what I believe.

Cause the programmers are mostly overseas and can’t communicate without coming off as rude

As if a programmer could ever know as much about a domain as an expert with decades of front-line experience.

They would not know enough about markets to ask the questions much leas understand the answers.

You can study design patterns or economics, not many do both.
