Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Downfall only accelerates after this!

There is no stop gap. Even if intel spins off foundry (assuming intel supply agreement).

The only volume they would get is commoditized, low volume chips. Intel can never recover margin on the touch pricing in this market.

As for design. They will be limited to intel production…. loosing market faster and faster to AMD, Apple M, Qualcomm, Nvidia etal.

Welp, you got them.
But, if they cannot, explain Lunar Lake or any PCH built in the last 4+ years.

Yes. INTELS margins and profits will never recover. Wafer costs are way too high. Headcount must now be judged on revenue per employee. Only half of the employees including mangers can remain at best. Half of the VPs must go too.

There will be a mass exodus after this for those fortunate to find positions elsewhere

There is an excess expertise drain at intel especially in data center design teams.. not sure if they really have product teams that can deliver products.. it is a joke to think that the product teams can do what they were able to do before..

Split the company, there is no market for Intel's sh---y designs. ProdCo is holding the fab hostage.

If the company splits, the product portion should be able to choose their fab of choice. But that might be too logical
