It's time to face facts folks. No matter how highly you think of yourself and how important your contributions are, you're not safe. Even if your manager is telling you you're safe, you're not safe. They might believe it, but they're not the ones making the final decision. Basically, unless you're a member of the ELT, you're not safe.

"I have been at several different companies, with Intel being the latest. All are variations of the same bullsh-t."
That's like being confronted with the amount of homeless in SF and saying it is a problem all over the United States. It's not so bad where I live.
If you think you are "safe" in any company, please pass on what you are smoking. I have been at several different companies, with Intel being the latest. All are variations of the same bullsh-t.
OP, you must have been recently fired.
Duh
The work I do is a blocker for mfg. And will promptly be outsourced to Asia.
but i'm so "close to the wafer". blah hahaha.
Yes. No one is safe. I am actually very concerned when I look around at my teammates and colleagues. Most of them think they are above it all and super safe. You’re not. It’s very jarring to see so much bravado. I think all of us need a wake up call. We are the trash of semiconductor industry now. A joke. This is reality and we need to adjust to it. The days of us being the leaders of industry are gone. It’s scary to see this has not sunk in with a lot of people. I am bailing as soon as I land something. Well if I can land something seems like rest of the world is treating us the way we deserve to be treated. Good luck to all those looking for employment else where.
Most of you cannot handle the truth.

Do you want positive vibes or honesty?
