Germany for the win ?

Some people were defending Germany last week about how its manufacturing is going great by not hiring cheaper employees or outsourcing - this is for them -

Imagine volkswagen considering shutting down in Germany 😀 just shows the cost of doing business in the “western” countries - the cost of the benefits everyone enjoys. Anyone blaming outsourcing should be willing to pay 5x for every product - clothes, electronics even kitchen utensils!

Another casualty of “globalization” … it sure works wonderfully for the elite until it doesn’t. All cultures are not equal.

German manufacturing is dying because they can no longer anccess almost limitless energy at low cost. No Russian gas, decarbonizing via edict and shuttering all their reactors. Lesson here for other stupid countries following their path.

Yeah , and intel has its own problems but the fact is the world wants cheaper stuff - and it’s not like cheap is bad - in fact cheap products are often good because the cost goes up just with a brand name , not with the quality. I think the argument is that it’s expensive to run businesses everywhere. Outsourcing is not the solution or the problem. Find the real reason - corporations want profits, investors want big returns and so on.

Sure, I might pay less for a T-shirt, but if it falls apart after just three washes, I end up buying it five times more often. It's like VW—yes, it's an expensive car, but for many people, a car is just a way to get from point A to point B, nothing more. I own two VWs because I appreciate their simplicity—no endless buttons on the dashboard. However, they lack the safety features in their lower-end models that competitors include across their entire range. VW makes great cars, but when it comes to servicing or repairs, it’s definitely not cheap. And I bought my Golf because it was MADE IN GERMANY!!!!!

VW made the mistake to listen to mo--n politicians and started building EV that nobody buys. On the other hand isn’t California’s economy above Germany? LOL
