Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

So when do we expect cuts in earnest?

If a new org is to be completed by April 2025, I would expect some major turmoil this fall. Anybody have an idea? Or they’ll just go the route of a thousand small cuts?

I'm hearing IT jobs ~300) first to go to ENGINE needing to be hired this year. Then early 2025 San Ramon will learn what jobs are moving & when. Then a ROM to allow SR employees who don't want to move and opportunity to post for Houston roles, to be left standing and getting a package. After that the flood gates open in the BUs and Center held jobs.

If any cut for IT, it will be last in the chain…IT needs to set up infrastructure for ENGINE…this is a golden opportunity for IT (and MN) to be distracted and forget about their over budget issues. Folks are jockeying for expat positions in ENGINE knowing Chevron expat benefits are excellent!! It’s just the Chevron Way😀

We’ve been told to expect cuts (in Houston) this fall.

The ABU was told explicitly no cuts in 2024, and the ABU is in the first ENGINE round.

It's death by a thousand cuts. This allows CVX to outlay minimal severance.
