Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

How about a mass quitting?

What if, in response to every Cisco layoff announcement, we all resigned? How would the stock be affected if, for instance, 20 - 40K people resigned the next day? I know it is hard to sync people, but it is not impossible.

"ha ha very funny OP they will rehire the same amount in India for pennies within a day"

No, you fool, they wouldn’t be able to replace us that quickly. The post is more about how 90K people are stuck doing nothing while the company is going downhill, complaining anonymously. Meanwhile, the site owners profit from pricey ads for luxury cars and cruises, while you're panicking about losing your job. This isn't just about quitting; it's about taking collective action so that the media or shareholders take notice. The goal is to push for improvements or even prompt the removal of top management.

May the Lord protect you from dangers seen and unseen. May he give you peace when the weight of life seems unbearable. May He give you wisdom and patience to wait on his answer. May He hear your silent prayers and meet you at your every need today and forevermore. Be at peace in this day knowing that you are loved and never alone. Amen.

Wow. This may be the longest time from layoff announcement to this nonsense. Unions. RTP closing. 19. They already showed up.

I know it is hard to sync people, but it is not impossible.

It has nothing to do with syncing. The chances of having "20 - 40K people" get jobs staged within a few days of each other is on the far side of insane. If that many just mass quit without jobs it will be obvious to potential employers who won't have any interest in this kind of employee.

On the other hand, if that many actually had talent and drive they would have left on their own much closer to 23 years ago when perpetual layoffs started. Ask yourselves why they and you haven't done that already.

There is something called a union which would be a more organized approach.

Manage creativity to the lowest common denominator. If Cisco could attract effective talent they should lay off 40,000.

If all of us have no mortgages and mouths to feed then sure why not!

I have 3.2M at my disposal. I'm in!

If enough of you mass resign, and if this makes a news, I will resign, and join you.

One of my senior suggested(already lred last year) that stop working is better option than resigning if all you are looking for an exit.
I did that in last 3 weeks but unfortunately failed this time to get in to the list.

"How about a mass get your a-s to work and be better."

Believe me, I'd love to, I would even fill a V2MOM cr-p with a strong vision from the top, but unfortunately it is not the case.

"I think the stock would hit an all time high"

I wouldn't be so sure, but at least we can dump our stock for a profit.

How about a mass get your a-s to work and be better. Everyone wants to blame leadership but I’ve been here for two years and the diffusion of responsibility and lack of ownership from every line of business I meet is astounding.

Especially in sales people literally do nothing to become better reps just cry.
