Clifton: I am to provide to my superiors with "detailed review of any proof of their impact" in regards to manufacturing engineers and planners. This comes from Melbourne.

I discovered this site quite by accident over a year after I left the company. Amusing to see the drama that comes from clifton. Clifton is an enigma. Always has been. Find it on a sheet of paper on the top of the paint booth in the back of the btr. It's probably still there. It sums it up. He who laughs last laughs best. Or, the truth is like exercise, it only hurts if you're not used to it.

Most of the real talent in Clifton that are too young to retire have moved on to better jobs. The older ones that have stayed are just hanging on until they can retire which isn't long from now. When the facility does eventually close, the only ones left in the cold will be the fakers. Mostly overpaid and underqualified, they will have no place to go. But, there is always home depot. They will probably be glad to get you back. And they might actually pay you more than $15 an hour. Good luck.

YES Clifton is in the crosshairs. Most companies do not own there facilities. The Nj property represents cash. Harris needs cash . They messed up with rocketdyne

There are 10 reasons why the future of Clifton is bleak:
#1. Construction on the Space And Airborne facility in Palm Bay is behind schedule but certainly will be completed eventually. It's not being built to be kept empty. The SAS division will shrink it's real-estate footprint with this facility and contribute to reducing costs by the promised $1 billion.
#2. The SAS antenna business has been sold.
#3. Persistent quality and deadline issues at Clifton are not getting any better.
#4. Competition in the EW business from former partners has eroded the projected future of the IDECM and AIDEWS programs.
#5. The legacy talent is all but gone from Clifton and most of the senior "founding members" have been laid off or retired.
#6. Clifton costs the company $1 million in property taxes yearly.
#7. The value of the property along route 3 is over $30 million.
#8. The skill set of the local labor pool has diminished significantly in recent years and most applicants do not have a working knowledge of English or cannot get a security clearance.
#9. The high salaries paid in the tri-state area have become prohibitive.
#10. The bargaining unit has priced themselves out of competitiveness.
Any 2 or 3 of these reasons would spell the end of a location. Clifton checks all 10 boxes. The corporate leadership may be mean but they are not stupid.

Stating the obvious: any business or site could "eventually close". And what they said about the recent postings.
