This is an honest question. In my book, the later it happens, the more time I have to prepare. Why would anybody want to hurry the process? Let's face it, it's not as if you'll stop stressing as soon as it's done. We all know there'll be more rounds after this one, and all you'll do is start thinking and worrying about them. I honestly don't see an upside.

The people who want it done now are those who are confident they can get an offer elsewhere very quickly. Probably because they didn't let the overly relaxed Cisco culture rot their brain.
Agree with you OP i wondered the same, they gave us good one month head start for prepping for exit, only thing is mentally difficult to perform at work but who the fu-k cares at this point. We are living in such a fu---d up state already.
Because they are prepared.
People are in a hurry to layoff others , not themselves!
Very wise OP ! Everybody stay calm and enjoy the day in Cisco with free food.
Because they economy is tanking faster than the Titanic
Good luck finding a job this Fall when most of tech will be doing layoffs or freezing reqs
