So , we depart on Friday the 13.
This basically means that off payroll the 13th.

Our next check after we leave will include any remaining vacation time plus 1 week of actual pay worked.

Friday is BYE-day. Taking this week’s paycheck down to Atlantic City and will forget about bad decision-making in the C-suite, the HR people sticking their heads in the sand and VZI being effectively clueless. No job is worth the aggravation and waste that this company engenders.

a lot of the IT folks in Miami have more than 1 job. They are so loosely managed and their achievements are so basic, that I have met coworkers that even had 3 during the pandemic. this is normal in Value GTS where everyone is a boss and have little responsibilities.

Working 2 jobs is not illegal. This person is using vacation time. It would be a company violation and risk to VSP if they were working for a competitor. Many people these days in this economy have to work 2 jobs.

@1msl+1updzCPV - It is illegal, Hope your new company did not find out that you are still employed at Verizon ( even you are taking vacation) while working for them
3 offers - may I ask , are they McD, KFC, BK ?

For the note - I have already found a job. Been working new job for 3 weeks now, as I take vacation time until my 9/13 departure. So basically 2 incomes until then. My new job has very similar benefits when I need them. And the pay is only 10k year less. But the big thing, no STRESS involved. No OT involved, work my 8 go home and no worrying about anything else. Jobs are out there, just need to dig a little deeper. I used Indeed and Glassdoor. I had 10 interviews the first 4 weeks, then 3 offers the last 3 weeks. Good luck everyone. Life is better after Verizon.

The only thing I will look back on are the great times I had with co-workers. Yes, VZ has provided a means to put a roof over my head and food on the table. However the stress that this place brings it horrible to ones health. Dec 20th for me! We had stress in wireless...but the never ending rif's and BS I could have done without. The poor management, and leadership is just horrible. Also, for those who think of staying...there is NO retirement perks anymore worth staying for...coast and take the paycheck, and look for some place that will appreciate your efforts...this place does not.

Retirement for me as of 9/14 and young enough to enjoy it! 401k for 35 years. Make sure you are putting in(401k) the maximum amount of money you can afford.

I got RIFd at the end of 2022 and wished it would have happened sooner as I found out there are companies out there who value their employees and managers who care to know about you and your family. I never looked for a job beforehand because I was paid handsomely and gotten take care of when raises and STI came around.
Don't let your ego get in the way for taking a job that pays a lot less or below your skill level, use it as a stepping stone and to further network with new people.
