The longer this lasts, the less I feel like doing anything. I know this has been said before, but I have to reiterate: prolonging this process unnecessarily is nothing but a way to get more people to walk away on their own. It's inhumane and shouldn't be happening. But here we are...

Well i have some bad news for you OP this is going to continue for every quarter now for next 2 years we have embarked on a new chapter of unprecedented tech layoffs with Cisco leading from the front the absolute and unquestionable king of layoffs.
tl;dr: I'm so oppressed getting a six digit salary with a 93% chance of continuing to be stuck working here without the will to change that on my own.
The good new is they've saved $200M-$300M for the next round, and maybe they'll use the productivity data from this month to do the next layoffs with no warning so you can be happy.
I was a and. low level manager, but had a great team. They made my team smaller and then told me I didn't have enough people to be a manager, but that they wanted me to still lead the team. I did and we achieved great things. End of July I lost half my team, due to a red badge cull. A few weeks back I heard grade 10's are no longer going to get RSU and the so called unlimited PTO. So I am now working for me, taking my PTO and hoping I can make it until my final stock vests. I will be over 60 by then. Great company destroyed. My moral is broken. Good luck all!
They’ve built in the reduction of productivity into this plan. Don’t work! Don’t feel guilty
Time to downsize your life, overall. Live well below your means and rediscover “living well” without a dependence on a very high income. Best thing in the world you can do for your well being. Dependence is slavery.
It’s capitalism, nothing to do with humanity.
Unlimited PTO is not yet in effect.
This is how it was in Europe last time. A month from seeing your US colleagues go before you knew you were impacted, under the guise of them needing to do consultation. We already knew what teams were going because they were gone in the US. ‘Consultation’ my a-s. Cisco’s way of tiptoeing around employment regulation.
Looking like Europeans will be gone late Oct/Nov. Happy Holidays!
Just assume you'll be laid off and interview elsewhere. That's the only way to keep your sanity.
I took this week off taking advantage of unlimited PTO policy
Expect more layoffs at Cisco in 2025, 2026, and 2027. You should always be looking for a new job in corporate america.
