Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Is Splunk impacted?

Ya’ll I have been so worried. I’m based in SF and have been here with Splunk for just 8 months.

Would I be eligible for severance even tho I have been here for 8 months only?

Check your director's calendar. Mine has a pretty ominous sounding meeting on for today. So yes, Splunk is impacted.

Yes, Gary addressed this in the town hall a few weeks ago. Splunk will be participating in the LR. On severance: In my 11-year tenure at Cisco, we've always provided a severance to those impacted, even those employed less than a year. Assuming that since Splunk is now part of Cisco, you'd be eligible for severance.

Staying behind is better than being lowballed by recruiters and struggling with bills.

Splunk is definitely on the chopping block, but you'll be eligible for a package.

Layoff with severance is better vs. Staying behind and getting forced to perform 500% to keep the ship afloat. Fail and get put on pip with no severance or no increment

$28 Billions for a company that makes just 1 billion revenue every year !!

Cisco cash is just $16B from $40-$45B few years ago. Anyone paying attention ?

Worst case, you’re still eligible for severance.

from what i hear, splunk seems to be in a good position, for now....
ya'll are the golden goose of recent cisco mergers and acquisitions.
enjoy your position while it lasts.

once you are fully assimilated by cisco and become just another bu, it will change.
