Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

It’s Time For All To Come Together

We all need to put aside our differences and realize who the enemy is. All of us are working because we have to for various reasons. The 1% is hurting all of us and pushing us further apart. The more we work together the more they seek to divide us because they know we are stronger together. We have to stop these evil people once and for all, otherwise it will be more of the same.

Not defending the actions of trust funds and large investment firms, but it doesn’t mean socialism is the answer.

All of us are working because we have to for various reasons.

Maybe it's just me but I like having not died at 20 from my teeth and having indoor plumbing.

An article on Bezinga from January said the top 5% have a net worth of $1.03M, and if you had a 401K for just 20 years getting an average Cisco US engineering income you could be in that top 5% not counting any other property and investments. Adding in property and investments for an entire career at that income level and you should easily exceed the $2.472M to be in the top 2%. Like me many of you could afford to retire without having to leave the US on this kind of money.

The divide isn't really b/w dem and gop, left or right, it's b/w the uber wealthy and everyone else.

Of course it is!

  • Only one party calls me a "job creator" because I make my money in investments which collect the value they create and squeeze out even more with layoffs
  • Only one party sells the divide between productivity and pay as "trickle down economics" when the wealth is trickling up to people like me
  • Only one party complained about the bottom 47% paying no federal income tax
  • The counties that went orange in 2020 represent only 29% of the GDP and therefore likely make up a disproportionately large fraction of that 47%
  • Only one party is talking about taxing all the income of lower income earners through federal sale taxes and tariffs because they have to spend every dollar they make
  • The states of that one party largely take in more than they pay in federal taxes, which is the reverse of the other major party. Guess where the debt is coming from.

As much as I'd like to see more balance the reality is people either have fear and fight to stay afloat or they get too comfortable and start expecting that everything be handed to them. The US would need a massive cultural shift for the majority to be both well off and productive.

@aid+1uqw1VTT "move the 99 into the 1% " is from Sacha Baron Cohen's interview of Bernie Sanders. Pretty funny. The clip is on youtube.

Chuck is a director for BlackRock and for The Business Roundtable where he chairs the Immigration Committee.

Enough said.

According to the International Institute of Truth and Knowledge we can move the 99 into the 1%

Anyone recognize that?

Unionize. Together we stand, divided we fall.

Why focus on all this angst and consternation? Search and identify high quality opportunities, study and prep for interviews, and find a better job. There is some uncertainty, but your future is under your control.

The divide isn't really b/w dem and gop, left or right, it's b/w the uber wealthy and everyone else.

A middle class left wing dem has far more in common with their local hard right Trump supporter than they do with the freaks that run our country, our corporations and NGOs.

But the media amps up division and hate. It's easy to control a population that wastes its time bickering over essentially meaningless issues when existential threats face our nation.

The first thing people need to do is turn off the news. All of them are toxic liars and brain washers. They have convinced us that the other side is the culprit when both sides are full of sh*t.

It only took 7% of the American population to begin the first American revolution.

I think we've got at least 20% ready to go for the second one. How's your ammo stash?

A world wide revolution is needed. Make sticking it to the man everyone's setup. Become ungovernable. Don't use "big" anything.

The only way to do that, is to ensure you can meet your family's needs without any big corporations involved. It's not easy. There are only a few small producers of things like toilet paper, but you can find them if you search hard enough.

Farmers Markets for food (no processed anything), local individuals for anything else.

Not sure what we're going to do for computers, but if we get LRed, guess we don't need them much anymore. Newspaper has job listings. And it takes all of the hours of a day to grow your own food & sell enough of something/create a business for income.

We could also all stop paying taxes at once and watch it all come down around us.

I agree but How do we get everyone on the same page? It seems so hard and almost impossible. People are so tired, angry and deflated. I wish they could turn that negative energy into positive and pull together. The working Americans have done it before and I’m confident we can do it again I just don’t know how to get everyone to listen to reason.

Wait until you lose your job and spend your savings on health insurance. Then have to fight insurance companies to cover prescriptions or procedures. They prey on the weak & elderly.

I agree. They are stopping us from living and ruining our mental health one person at a time. Look at this board. How could Cisco leadership unleash talk of an LR and put us on the back burner. It’s very selfish and sickening.

The workers are losing big time and the wealthy are laughing at us all the way to the bank.

I hate it here and NO there aren’t a lot of other jobs. It’s BS and a facade to make you think you have options. Guess what you do not. Those are fake jobs and they are stringing you along.

We are getting played and are too distracted to see it. This makes me so angry!!!

To truely be free, we need to as a people:

  1. Unite the working class (Blue collar, white collar, and everything in between).
  1. Ensure we are: growing our own food, producing our own tools & necessities, & managing our own towns.
  1. Remember the pyramid of power is people at the top (largest segment) then people give a tiny portion of their power to local governments, who give a tiny amount to state, and the least amount of power should be at the federal level (really just the ability to ensure commerce works between states and our country isn't invaded by hostile interests).

Right now our governments are harming our countries and the people, they need to be changed - drastically.

You can’t unite bigots. It’s always them against us or us against them.

It’s a no win situation and it’s always a grievance on both sides, sadly.

Seems like the goal is to wipe you out financially with all of these layoffs happening everywhere. Humans need food, clothing and shelter in American without money you won’t have the basic necessities of life.

Scary times.

Keeping us all divided with stupidity like woke, DEI and political parties has weakened Americans.

It takes strong minds to see that in order to conquer you must divide.

Wake up before it’s too late brothers and sisters. Your lives will depend on it.

Blackrock has its hand in everything. They are behind most of this. I won’t say more because think it’s crazy talk but they will see when they loose it all who’s been the ringleader this entire time.

Blackrock aka Wallstreet is Satan himself. All of us will be slaves and renters when it’s all said and done.
