Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

I'm done

Who else is ready to gladly accept severance and take a full mental health month off to detox from this toxic, stressful place?

This is simply how the IT industry operates; there's nothing new under the sun. Cisco is a solid workplace, comparable to many others, if not superior. Companies often face difficult choices, and those decisions ultimately impact us, the worker bee. However, I've realized that there's nothing Cisco or any other company can do to me that Verizon Business hasn’t already done. So, let's stay focused, formulated next steps, and hang in there.

Severance is honestly overrated — it’s not worth the mental turmoil to keep plowing along when you’ve mentally checked out. Leave on your own terms and — you’ll be glad.

I feel the same. they have given such a long time to have to sit and think about it before the 16th that I will dissapointed at this point if Im not on the list. I am at 2 years here and this whole past year the shine has worn off completely. I will find a job at a smaller tech company with better value for their employees and ask alot more questions before accepting an offer. like do you focus more on DEI or doing a good job? how many layoffs has your company had in the past year? Do you hope to replace the majority of your employees by utilizing AI and automation over the next 2 years? Anyway I will see what happens monday and likely start job hunting anyway in the meantime.

I wish I was in the US, I would beg them to let me go.

You do know at any time you can look for a new job and leave right? If it’s so toxic and stressful why are you still there?
