Im not sure about Cisco but most companies lay off on a friday/payday. Im wondering if it comes on the 13th and maybe the 16th is just when they tell everyone else who was cut. I would certainly rather get the bad news on payday and then let it soak in over the weekend than have to worry all weekend and come in monday waiting for a 1:1 invite from the moment I sign on. Im also wondering what/how the severance would work, They mentioned on the check in 2 months working but not doing work + 4 mo pay, whats the purpose of this? extending when official unemployment date is maybe to cut back on insurance? I myself would return my laptop again and not need email or want to log in again, good riddance it would be time to move on.
