Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Will all of us get the boot on the same day 09/16 or it could happen any time in the next months?

Most probably I am on the list but I do not see how they can let me go before I finish what I am working on right now. There is a resources crunch and most probably they can't shuffle things around but I have had very clear signals that I am not wanted here.

If I don't get the boot Monday, can they do it any time in the next weeks ?
I remember this being done around the COVID times but not much after that (people disappearing randomly after the official date of the LR but not exactly on that day)

Only part confusing is they said they will realise only 80% of 1 Billion severance this quarter so that would mean 4800 will be cut this quarter and the remainder will be cut next quarter 20% which would be 1200. So this will continue next 2 quarters, and not to forgot we will by then arrive Feb '25 which will start another fresh round of cuts maybe another 5000, Sept'25 another 5000. Boy its gonna be lot of fun.

Don't be surprised if your entire BU is demolished and merged to another one on the same day. No one is critical here. Be ready for any surprises.

official communication was if you're in the US, and you're in front of the firing squad, they will fire your azz on the 16th unless you're out of office for some reason, like leave or something then they'll fire your azz when it gets back

The original announcement said it will go on throughout the FY, but this big one should be over. But they said that in Feb as well, and they were still laying off people under that "plan" up until last month...

They could announce another round of cuts pretty quickly, but I guess for this announced round, if you're in the US, you'll find out on the 16th.

You are not as indispensable as you think. Everyone is disposable up to the highest rungs.

So where in his post does the OP say that he is ? If I read that right he is just saying that his colleagues have their plates full already.
Some people here deserve to be sent home and no wonder that we are where we are today. We like to blame it on management but the number of stupid people in Cisco is staggering. We can still blame the mangers for hiring them but they have an excuse, you get what you pay and Cisco is not at the top of the industry in this respect, on the contrary

indispensable no, convenient yes.

Just as in previous layoffs there will be those laid off after the typical date.
