Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Curious: Who makes the final decision for one to be on the list - Finance or the BU VP?

Who makes the final decision for one to be on the list? HR- Finance or the BU VP? If the BU doesn't add an employee's name to their list, can Finance add the name? Or if the VP doesn't submit their name, then they aren't even considered for layoffs?

Also, it's Scott's team that prepares the final list, right?

Fu-k people asking the same questions every single LR till the last day. These same people will carry working till the next round and then ask the same questions

HR loves LRs. It justifies their existence as a function at Cisco.

I don't think Finance has anything to do with the list beyond telling the BU what it's budget is.

It's up to the BU to figure out how to make the budget work by restructuring their teams.

I know that it doesn't necessarily have to be laying off an employee, they can also ki-l approved requisitions that haven't been filled yet to help get there (which of course means that reqs work will have to stay on the employees currently carrying it).

Top thing They look at list of names for your group and anyone with a name like Bob, Steve or Frank gets let go first. Red badges are safe, so are anyone with names like Martinez and Shafuglicarianamah same as anyone with xe/xir or anything similar in their workday profile will be fast tracked to stable director roles doing nothing. Anyone old enough to realize the utter insanity of the current world and corporations is let go as well very quickly.

Who knows. It’s irrelevant. You will or will not be LR’d whether you know or not. If you really want to know, email Chuck.
