Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Anyone want to apologize

for claiming/thinking that only underperformers get impacted by layoffs?

Clearly that is not the case.

well by the numbers, Cisco is a slowing company not meeting expectations of shareholders and market share, so it would only make sense that the high performers be let go so the company continues in its downward trend. The Titanic was a mighty ship when it first sailed the Atlantic only to end up on the bottom of the ocean due to how it was sailed = same holds true for many businesses.

It’s at the discretion of every Director+. Some really are performance, others not unfortunately.. there is no single guideline across the company

It’s about change of business direction, meaning, performance is not the norm with this layoff

Age, M/F, Race, Location, and Grade also play a big part.
